Selecting the right 5015 Series
Termination method affects repeatability more than peak performance. Crimp joints are controlled by tooling and give consistent results at volume; solder joints depend on the operator and suit low volumes and field repair.
Where the part is mounted on a board, use locating posts or board locks so that cable pull is not carried by the solder. That single detail accounts for a large share of the failures we are asked to investigate.
Packaging and delivery
Packaging is specified to survive international freight rather than to minimise volume. Connectors are supplied in anti-static packaging with pin protection where the contact geometry requires it, and multi-channel items are labelled so that a field replacement cannot be mis-wired.
