Connector certifications and the quality system behind them
KINKUO ELECTRONICS CO., LTD operates a quality management system certified to ISO 9001:2015, covering the design, manufacture and supply of industrial connectors and custom cable assemblies from our Dongguan facility. The certificate is available on request and is accompanied by the audit scope, so you can confirm it covers the products you are buying rather than a related entity.
What certification means in practice is repeatability. The way a batch was produced last month is documented and auditable, which is what allows a design you have already validated to remain valid over a long production life. Our quality control process describes the inspection stages in detail.
Material compliance: RoHS and REACH
Both regulations are frequently quoted in one breath, but they impose different obligations, and the distinction matters when you are qualifying a supplier.
RoHS restricts the concentration of specified substances — lead, mercury, cadmium, hexavalent chromium and certain brominated flame retardants and plasticisers — in electrical and electronic equipment. For a connector or cable, that means the contact plating, solder, housing plastics, insulation and jacket compounds all have to be accounted for.
REACH regulates chemicals rather than products, and requires anyone placing articles on the European market to communicate information about Substances of Very High Concern above a threshold concentration. A REACH declaration therefore has a revision date, and an older declaration may not cover substances added to the candidate list since it was issued.
Because we manufacture rather than resell, the declarations we provide are based on our own incoming material control rather than on a claim received from a third party. Primary reference material is published by the RoHS compliance guide and the European Chemicals Agency.
Other standards and programmes
Depending on the market and the customer, additional requirements may apply. We can supply or support the following on request:
- UL recognition for components where the end product listing requires it.
- California Proposition 65 declarations for goods shipped to the United States.
- Conflict minerals reporting for programmes that require supply-chain disclosure.
- Sector-specific requirements in medical and automotive supply, including change-notification arrangements.
- Incoterms-based trade terms — FOB, EXW, CIF and DDP — with the applicable rules published by the International Chamber of Commerce.
Tell us at the enquiry stage which of these your programme requires. Retrofitting documentation into a released design is considerably more expensive than building it in from the start.

- Batch traceability, with joint sampling and sealing available for orders that require it.
- Packaging documentation matching the purchase order, so incoming inspection can be signed off against the paperwork.
Change control
A validated design is only valuable if it stays valid. Our documented change-control process notifies affected customers before a material, process or supplier change is implemented, so that a design which has already passed your qualification does not silently become a different product.
Audits and factory visits
Customers are welcome to visit our facility in Nancheng District, Dongguan for supplier audits, technical reviews or qualification visits. Please arrange visits in advance so that the relevant engineers and quality staff are available, and tell us in advance which records you need to review.
