- Measure the actual bend radius your installation produces, not the intended one. Flex life falls non-linearly as radius reduces.
- Run cables in a single bend plane inside the carrier. Twisting shortens life substantially.
- Separate cables of different diameters so they do not beat against each other during travel.
- Secure the cable at both ends of the travel and let the loop move freely between them.
- Never pull a cable through a carrier by its connector.

Start with the movement, not the connector. Measure the actual bend radius your installation produces, because flex life falls non-linearly as radius reduces; halving the radius can cut expected life by an order of magnitude rather than by half.
Pair assignment is the second critical detail. A replacement cable that uses a different pair assignment, or that separates the members of a differential pair, produces signal skew the drive interprets as position error. This is the failure most often introduced by sourcing on price alone.
